I write stories about people falling in love, figuring themselves out, and making spectacular messes before earning their happily ever after. As the author of Romancing the Beat, a story structure guide that’s helped thousands of romance writers around the world, I also teach writers how to tell unforgettable love stories
When I’m not writing, teaching, or editing, you’ll usually find me curled up with a book, cross stitching something (probably nerdy), knitting (usually just square things), digging through genealogy records in search of long-lost relatives, or hanging out with my dogs. Oh, and my husband. I like him too.
My playlists bounce happily between ’80s power ballads and Taylor Swift. I drink too much coffee, I’m hopelessly addicted to peppermint candy, and I’ve happily opted out of social media. I’d rather spend my time reading a good book, writing one, or helping you write one! Nothing makes me happier than watching a writer have that “Oh! I get it now!” moment.
